2024 TEMPLOS ~ ORCAS ~ MIMOS
The bagpipe from the northeastern Portugal region, traditionally made from the hide of goats, often uses the entire carcass of the animal to craft the bags. In the Portuguese folklore, there is a clear absence of references to these beings, whom the pipers carry under their arms, both in the lyrics and in the musical elements. In Templos ~ Orcas ~ Mimos, A lake by the mõõn seeks to embrace and reconnect with the animal, through a customised synthetic bagpipe, electronic music and field recordings. A ritual about our relationship with neighbouring organisms and their significance.

2023 EMBRIONAR
Live sound performance for 'Embrionar,' an installation by Joy Food Experiences that explores fertile soil through a sonic and performative act, offering a sensory reflection on processes of cultivation and consumption. The soundscape accompanies the installation/performance/sonic cartography, extending the experience beyond the visual and gustatory realms.
Premiered during the 'Gaivotas Symposium,' a transdisciplinary festival by Rua das Gaivotas 6, in January 2023 in Lisbon.

2022 SPATIAL SOUND INSTITUTE RESIDENCY
Budapest, Hungary, 2022
The final residency of the Sonotomia program took place during the month of May 2022, at the Spatial Sound Institute (SSI) in Budapest. In between going field recording Budapest cityscapes and spending time immersed at the majestic 60-channel 4DSOUND studio in the SSI, the residents collaborated in groups to create a spatial sound piece based on the theme "Budapest 3000".
With a final public presentation during Art Quarter Budapest’s Open House 2022, József Iszlai [HU], Duarte Eduardo [POR] and Rozi Mákó [HU] composed and presented “Drawn In” for 60-Channel 4DSOUND - "The soundscape of the urban future reminds me of the present." Field recordings, Portuguese Bagpipe, Lyra-8 Organismic Synthesizer.

2020 SONOTOMIA RESIDENCY I.0
Alentejo, Portugal, 2020
I had the immense privilege and pleasure of participating in the first of three residencies for the European project 'Sonotomia.' Alongside a team of five artists from various disciplines and backgrounds, we set out to create a spatialized sound piece using 4DSOUND technology and field recordings captured along the Alentejo Coast, one of my favorite places on Earth. With the goal of preserving cultural and natural heritage, we recorded diverse soundscapes of Alentejo’s marine and coastal life, later manipulating and spatializing them to craft a final work from the beautiful and intense week we spent there.
